Are you still on the fence about Canva? If so, then consider this your gentle nudge in the Canva direction because you are seriously missing out if you’re not using Canva for your real estate business. Canva is the perfect place to create designs that you would normally have to spend on a designer, and you get to do them for free in Canva easily and effortlessly. If you still need a little convincing I’ve put together a list of my top five ways you can be using Canva for your real estate business right now. If you want to kick your visuals up ten notches then read on.

ONE | BRAND ASSETS

Not sure where to start when it comes to branding yourself for real estate? Trust me, I get it, it can be so overwhelming and the options are endless. I always say that if you don’t have the budget for a big brand build out then Canva is the perfect place to start. You can play around with logos, colour palettes, fonts and get your feet wet with putting together a set of visual assets.

If you are a new realtor, and you’re not quite sure what direction you want to take your brand in and you don’t really have the budget to spend thousands of dollars on a designer, creating your brand assets in Canva is a great place to start. And the good news is there are tons of templates that you can use right in Canva. Need a little more help, we’ve got you, you can head over to our TEMPLATE SHOP and grab some realtor specific templates so you’re not starting from scratch.

Another great way that you can use Canva as a realtor is to create a brand board. A brand board is a collection of all your brand assets in one place. A good thing about creating a brand board is that you get to hand that off to anyone who either joins your team or designers that you work with in the future who need to have a quick at a glance, look at what your brand assets are, what your colours are what fonts you use and what your imagery looks like. It’s essentially a quick snapshot of your brand and is a fantastic way to use Canva.

TWO PROPERTY MARKETING

If you’re still having generic feature sheets made then you’re missing out on an opportunity to stand out from the crowd. Your property marketing either looks run-of-the-mill or it simply looks like it was done by somebody who’s not familiar with you or your brand, which means you’re not creating a strong brand presence, and friend, as a realtor, you are a personal brand, you NEED to have brand presence.

If you’re lucky enough to be working with a designer who understands your brand then great! But if you don’t have the budget for that or are just starting out, Canva is a great alternative. If you have established your brand assets, you get to move forward with creating property marketing that actually encompasses all of those elements, and you start to create very clear messaging across all of your marketing.

Listen, if starting from scratch doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, then we’ve got you covered. We have a huge resource library filled with Real Estate templates that are super affordable, so head on over to the PROPERTY SHOP to grab a couple and then get to work on customizing it for your brand.

THREE | STATIONERY

A lot of people think stationery is dead, and even though you might be going green and keeping the stationery the print, marketing, or the print materials in your company to a minimum, there are still things like business cards, and personal touch thank you note’s that you are still needed and used in real estate. Anything from thank-you cards, to digital letterhead can be created in Canva and by creating things like your letterhead in Canva you get to just pop in there anytime you need to whip a letter up and hit the download button and send digitally when you’re done. Canva makes it super easy to go green in this sense. And anytime you need to use letterhead for anything you can jump right into Canva and write it there and then download it as any file type that you need so whether that is a JPEG or a PDF. The amazing thing about Canva is they have all the sizing ready to go, all you have to do is type in what you want to create and choose the file you want, then just head into Canva pop in your brand assets and you’re good to go.

NUMBER FOUR | SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

Social media posts are one of the easiest things you can create in Canva and is great to help you create that curated feed you’ve always wanted. Social media and Instagram in general is a place where so many realtors struggle to create engaging content and a strong visual brand for themselves. The good news is, it really isn’t that hard to create a COHESIVE LOOK ON THE GRAM, you just have to stay consistent. It can be so tempting to go into Canva and start playing around with the hundreds of fun looking templates but changing your lookup every day or few days confuses your audience. Instead choose one look you love based on your BRAND STYLE and then and then get to work on creating TEMPLATES that you use again and again.

FIVE | ENGAGING VIDEO CONTENT

The video function in Canva is one of my favourites for real estate. It is amazing what you can do with video as a realtor. Instead of just posting market stats you can record yourself explaining them and then pop them into a frame in your market stat post, so your post then becomes half video, half market stat. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but market stats make my head spin, it’s so nice to have the option of having you talk about them while still keeping the info front and centre. You can also have fun with home tours, decor tips, behind the scenes actions all in the form of a post. It’s important to note that Canva is not a video editor so remember to record yourself first and then upload that video to Canva to make a dynamic post.

I hope that this post has shown you. What an amazing resource Canva can be, and I cannot wait for you to tell me what you’ve been creating in Canva, comment below.
