Your Instagram account is only as good as the amount of engagement it gets. Take a moment and let that sink in! We all love a pretty feed, but unless you’re completely uninterested in getting leads from social media (and chances are, if you’re tech savvy enough to be reading this, that’s not you), you need to create posts that encourage engagement. Enter carousel posts.
ONE | CAROUSEL POSTS PAINT YOU AS THE EXPERT
The carousel format works brilliantly for stats, tips, and other content that paints you as the expert in your field. Before you post anything, ask yourself if the content is going to ADD VALUE for the viewer. When you regularly provide value-added content, your audience will start to see that you know what you’re talking about and you’ll become their go-to real estate expert. (Bonus: You’ll be top of mind when they decide it’s time to buy or sell!)
TWO | CAROUSEL POSTS INCREASE ENGAGEMENT
Carousel posts are fantastic for engagement because human beings are inherently visual creatures! Rather than (or in addition to) writing out all those tips in your post caption, create additional images that display them in a “swipe right” format. This will keep people on your post longer, and they’ll be more enticed to save the post for future reference. (That’s what I call a a win-win…) Remember that you want to make your content as easy to consume as possible!
THREE | CAROUSEL POSTS ARE VISUALLY APPEALING
Carousel posts are WAY more visually appealing, on their own and as a part of your feed, because you don’t have to cram all your content into one image or into the caption of your post. It’s far better to SHOW people than to tell them!
FOUR | CAROUSEL POSTS ARE ALGORITHM FRIENDLY
We’re repeating this because it’s so darn important: Your Instagram account is only as good as the amount of engagement it gets. You need engagement for your account to be found – by your existing clients and by potential ones! Carousel posts are frequently saved because they’re easily consumed, and saving is the new post “like” as far as the algorithm is concerned. Instagram favours carousel posts because it knows they result in more engagement – and you should too!
