What’s your favourite clothing store? I bet you can name it right away, I bet your mind went right to the warm and fuzzy place that is your favourite store. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why it’s your favourite? Is it just the stellar clothes they offer? Or is it more? I’m willing to bet that the reason you go back time and time again is that they represent something to you, whether that be dependability, a refined aesthetic, superior quality or all of the above, you are handing over your credit card for reasons deeper than the perfect fit. This, my friend, is the secret to brand consistency and why it matters more than most realtors know. Read on to take a closer look at why brand consistency matters and how you can make sure you’re doing your part to keep yours in tip-top shape.

ONE | IT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

Being consistent with your marketing, your voice, your designs make you stand apart from the realtors who can’t find their unique voice or style. We’ve all seen the real estate ads that look like every single other real estate ad out there. When you disregard what others are doing, and do the work to find your brand style you can then apply it to every part of your business, from photos, to design, to your logo, to the way you speak to your audience. The more consistent you are the more you will stand apart from your competition who, for the most part, are trying to blend in and sound like everyone else.

TWO | IT FOSTERS TRUST

Let’s head back to your favourite clothing store for a minute, do you trust them? Do you shop there because you don’t know what to expect from them, or because you can depend on them? The truth is it doesn’t matter if it’s a clothing store, a hairstylist, a cleaning service, a handyman or a real estate agent, people choose who they choose because they think they can trust them to do the job well. Brand consistency isn’t just about getting likes on a post, it’s about developing relationships with your audience so they can get to know, like and trust you. Part of getting them to trust you is to make them feel like they are getting to know you, which is hard to do if you keep changing up your messaging, photos and style. Keep it all consistent and you’ll see more engagement.

THREE | IT CREATES REPETITION

What do they say? You need to see a brand 7 times before you interact with them? When you head over to Canva to design your next marketing piece and get swept away in all the options for fonts, colours, and layout… remember that potential clients need to see consistency from you if they are going to take you up on your call to actions. The worst thing you can do for your brand is to use different fonts, colours, styles, tones etc with each new marketing piece. The more streamlined your brand is the more recognizable it is and the more likely you are to have potential clients contact you. If you want your brand to look dependable, create a seamless look across all of your marketing and social media platforms.

I’ve seen so many realtors fall into the trap of more. More blasts, more posts, more flyers ….more more more more, but the reality is, without intention behind that marketing, their audience isn’t connecting with the material. So where do you start if you want a consistent brand? We’ve got you! Head over to our Brand Quiz to find out what your brand style is.
